Dubbed as the UAE’s first director of international standing, Ali F. Mostafa has come a long way in changing the face of film in the region. Growing up in the UAE, film has always played a central role in Ali’s childhood. Pursuing his dream as a young movie buff, he worked hard to harness his creativity, style and film making expertise during his time at the London Film School which propelled him into the heart of the industry.
The 'My Journey, My Inspiration' films, directed by Ali and produced by Emirati director Ahmed Abdulqader, are a collaboration between the Land Rover brand and inspirational achievers from the region who have shaped their land. The achievers, from Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, Kuwait, KSA and the UAE, all share one thing in common: they are each inspired by the culture and heritage of their land, and have gone above and beyond in their accomplishments.
People told me I was crazy and that it would never happen but I chased my dream for five long years
As one of the pioneers of the Emirati film industry, Ali has never lost sight of his heritage. “My land is everything to me, and it starts with my family and extends to everything I do in my life. I live in a place that sets the perfect example for me. Everything done here is done for its people. After everything the country has given us, we have to give something back.”
No stranger to the Land Rover brand, Ali F. Mostafa has worked closely with Land Rover Middle East and North Africa in his role as the brand ambassador and film director bringing to life projects such as ‘Classified’, the region’s first online branded entertainment series, ‘MYLAND.MYMUSIC.’, a musical collaboration between Land Rover and Sony Music Entertainment Middle East which launched the Sahara Al Arab song, and the ‘My Journey, My Inspiration’ film series recounting inspirational stories from achievers in the region.
